CNVP Foundation.
CNVP is a Dutch based organization operating in the Balkans. Founded in July 2012 by a team of committed forestry engineers from SNV, this small group of enthusiasts has grown to 25 professionals from diversified technical backgrounds.
Currently, CNVP implements cross-border development frameworks in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
In July 2019, leadership was handed over directly to existing regional directors. This pivotal management decentralization advanced the organization toward a highly responsive local model, matching contextual understanding with original organizational core values: commitment, innovation, and teamwork.
Forests remain our central focus as critical ecosystems for biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and local economic resilience. We provide localized support to communities and national governments to align regional development in harmony with nature.

Nehat holds a PhD degree in the field of rural economic development and brings us over 20 years of increasingly responsible experience in management with a particular focus on agriculture and rural development, green economy, employment, resource mobilization.
During his experience, Nehat worked with flag international development organisations, such as SNV, UNDP, USAID, GIZ, EU etc.
Lushi Xhevat
CNVP Executive Board Member-Country Director, Kosovo , Pristina Office
Xhevat has expertise in policy analysis for and operational implementation of agri-rural, agro-environment and NRM development, including the EU integration processes related to Chapter 11 of the acquis communautaire. He has implemented donor-funded projects with CSOs covering public policies, organizational development, climate change and land management. He has worked on cross-border cooperation projects, has exp. in developing agri-businesses, rural diversification and the LEADER/LAG approach
Aliaj Anila
CNVP Executive Board Member - Country Director - Albania
Anila is an MSD approach expert and the gender focal point for CNVP Albania. She has an extensive experience as Organizational Strengthening and Economic Development Advisor. Her areas of expertise include- Leadership and PCM, Business Development, Gender mainstreaming and Women Economic Development, Value Chain Strengthening, Rural Development, Sustainable Management of Natural Resources, Community Mobilisation, Advocacy and Lobbying etc. She has great communication and facilitation skills.
Janaq specialises on integrated NRM and forestry development, including forestry and environmental legal/policy issues. His experience covers forest/pasture participatory and decentralized management, forest inventory, rehabilitation/regeneration of degraded forests, soil erosion control, forest fire prevention and nature protection/conservation, as well as project design, implementation and monitoring.
Isuf supports local forest organisations, communities and local government representatives. His skills range from technical forest management to digital data processing. His experience covers forest management, digital data processing, use of GPS/GIS techniques, participatory mapping, farmer forestry, carbon sequestration, global warming, rural development and environmental issues.
Elda is a Junior Advisor for the PONT-funded project at CNVP’s Tirana office. An Environmental Engineer with five years of experience, she is a certified Energy Manager skilled in energy auditing and renewable energy. Elda supports local communities through sustainable solutions, combining technical expertise with practical action to boost energy efficiency and promote climate resilience.
Durim is a forest engineer, graduated in 2003. Since then, he has been supporting local forest organisations, communities and local/national government in the sustainable management of natural resources in the region. He has experience in forest & pasture management, farmer forestry, protected areas, forest fire prevention/protection, erosion control, mapping using GPS tool & GIS/QGIS software, flora & fauna monitoring, renewable energy, conflict resolution and environmental issues.
Salkurti Hamit
Forestry and Rural Development Adviser Albania, Peshkopi Office
Hamit has extensive experience working in Northern Albania, building teams at local level. He covers technical forest management, field evaluations, communal forestry and development of local forest organisations/rural communities. He has knowledge of NTFPs, especially nuts, rural tourism development, and the use of wood bio-mass as a renewable energy source in rural areas.
Hajrush works on NRM, forestry, bio-diversity, environmental protection and nature conservation. He provides advice at field level, and has developed models for joint forest management. He is involved in increasing the capacities of municipalities, private owners and producer groups at national, regional and local levels. He is a good process leader, dealing with national/regional/local actors, and has good communication/facilitation skills.
Ahmeti Ramaxhiku Sebiha
Environment and Community Development Advisor, Pristina Office
Sebiha has over 20 years’ experience within natural resource and environmental management programs with special interest in environment, climate change, social issues, civil society and communities’ engagement; and gender participation. She holds a Master degree on environmental sciences. Sebiha supports multi-stakeholder approaches, advocacy, environment and gender aspects. She is responsible for quality assurance of project interventions.
Dinaj Ardita
Rural and Economic Development and Wood Biomass Promotion Advisor, Pristina Office
Ardita has more than 15 years of experience in the economic and rural development and natural resources management sector as well as expertise in value chain development in Beekeeping, Chestnuts, MAPs and NWFPs sector. She has experience in building capacities of stakeholders on wood biomass production and development plans for biomass heating systems at school level, promotion of wood chip production for heating and renewable energy.
Egzon is responsible for advisory activities linked to the implementation of the SUNREED project, focusing on sustainable forest management, biomass production and renewable energy. He has a background in wood biomass, forest inventory and silviculture, and has previously worked for international projects and government institutions.
Mensura has experience in private forestry, wood processing, non-wood forest products, forest and wood certification, as well as wood bio-mass production and use. She has experience of developing rural SMEs and entrepreneurship for women/youth. She has been involved in developing national forest policy and programmes, including forestry-related rural development, and promoting sustainable forest management.
Vasilka administers CNVP Macedonia, overseeing all aspects of financial control, budget planning, variance analysis, project audits and preparation of financial statements. She provides financial leadership to CNVP’s two decentralized finance teams, and supports CNVP’s management team.
Arbnora had worked with various sectors and institutions, architecture and reconstruction, civil society, municipalities, higher education youth and forestry, and the environment sector.
She provides financial leadership to CNVP Kosovo.
Arbnora has working experience with International Organizations since
1997. MSc Engineer of Architecture and higher education coalification in the university of East Anglia, Norich, UK.
Rozi’s experience covers finance, human resources and administration in the development and civil society sectors, working with different donors. Her good communication skills and positive attitude are used to support the Financial Administrator in CNVP Albania.
Fabiola is responsible for managing the financial operations of CNVP Albania, including budget planning, expense monitoring, preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with legal and donor requirements. With a 4 year prior experience as an auditor, she contributes to strengthening internal controls, financial transparency, and risk management, ensuring the efficient and proper use of funds.
Zurija has a professional experience in project management more than 10 years. Her personal commitment is environmental protection, rural development, gender equality, building capacities and working with vulnerable groups. Currently, she is the CNVP coordinator for the ADA funded project “Integrated Forest Management along the transboundary Drin River Basin Forest Management” as well as Policy Advisor for the “CSO`s Action for climate project”, funded by the government of Sweden.
Violeta Joncevska
Public Relations and Field Officer, North Macedonia Office
A graduate producer by profession, Violeta has more than 15 years of experience in the field of video production, Public Relations, and marketing. She started her career in 2005 in the film industry, but soon continued her career path in the marketing industry where she worked in several large marketing agencies as a PR manager. As part of the CNVP team, she joins in November 2022, as Public Relations and Field Officer.
Endrit Keraj

Endrit is a communications specialist with multi-year experience in journalism, PR, content creation, social media management and field communications. He combines journalistic discipline with business-development experience to produce clear, audience-focused materials and manage end-to-end visibility for projects and events. At CNVP he handles communication strategy, visual content and event/social media visibility.
Andi has been part of CNVP Albania for five years, providing essential support to the team in daily operations and logistics. With a background in topography, he brings strong organizational and practical skills that ensure smooth coordination of staff activities, field visits, and commutes. His dedication and reliability make him a key contributor to the foundation’s work across Albania.
Ardian Marku
Project officer environmental/finance, North Macedonia office
Ardian holds bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has expertise in grants implementation in environmental protection, agri-rural development, and financial management. He has implemented several IPA cross-border cooperation grant projects with thematic priorities on environment protection and tourism development.
Orhan is the project coordinator for "Integrated Forest Management along the Drin River Basin" in Kosovo, a project implemented by CNVP, funded by the ADC (Austrian Development Cooperation) and ICEP. With a professional background history of 18 years, Orhan brings extensive expertise in forest management, complemented by coordination experience gained from years of working with international organizations and national government forest institutions.

Supervisory Board Member
Marianne has about 20 years’ experience the field of natural resource management with a focus on community-based management and Non-wood Forest Products. She holds a master’s degree from the Wageningen University. She has been a CNVP Associate Expert for 10 years and supported the organisation in numerous assignments. At present Marianne is working as policy adviser biodiversity & bee health for the Dutch Beekeepers Association in the Netherlands.

Aurel graduated as a Medical Doctor and has a Master degree in Business Administration. His career has involved management responsibility within international government, non-government and corporate business organisations, where he has managed people and programmes while overseeing budgets and resources to achieve bottom-line results.

Maarten has over 20 years of management and executive experience. He has been working in the field of the learning and development of people and organizations and has a special interest in change management and social innovation. Thijs has over 25 years’ experience of financial management with special interests in internal auditing, risk management and governance. He has graduated as Controller for the Public Sector. He has worked for several internal NGOs, including SNV. He is currently Controller at Medécins sans Fontières, The Netherlands.

Associate Expert
Ivica has worked in the private sector in agriculture production, fish farming and mushrooms, as well as fruit and grape nursery, working for international organisations in Bosnia Herzegovina. He is the Head of the Centre for Rural Development and Agriculture (CRRP) within the Regional Economic Development Agency Hercegovina (REDAH), Mostar.
Maksimovic Aleksandar
Associate Expert
Aleksandar has experience of managing environmental programmes at international level, working on environmental and nature protection programmes/projects in the IPA region. He is experienced in EU development aid instruments, as well as EU procurement and visibility procedures (PRAG, Visibility and Communication Guidelines, PPCM etc.).
Lemes Samir

Samir is an associate professor at the University of Zenica, Bosnia Herzegovina. He leads an activist environmental NGO, Eco forum Zenica. This aims to overcome major local air/soil/water pollution, improve access to justice in environmental issues by implementing the Aarhus Convention, and encourage public participation in decision-making.
Koro Levent
Associate Expert
Levent works for main donors building capacity for central government institutions related to employment generation, private sector development and labour markets. He has been involved in: drafting project, programme and policy documents; preparing and implementing M&E frameworks; and conducting the final evaluations of projects/programmes.

Franc has worked extensively on: forest policy; legislation and strategic planning; harmonisation of EU forestry and nature legislation; forestry organisation and institutions; public forestry administration and management; forestry extension service delivery; private forest owners’ associations and advocacy.

Julije has been Managing Director of North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency since 2008, and President of the European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and Environment since 2013. He has worked as the national biomass programme coordinator in Croatia, and for FAO, UNIDO and the European Commission.
Davidova Sophia
Associate Expert
Sophia is Professor of European Agricultural Policy at the University of Kent, and Honorary Director of the Centre for European Agri-Environmental Studies (CEAS). Her experience covers research, teaching and consultancy, particularly related to the Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) and sustainable rural development.
Cil Aysegul
Associate Expert
Aysegul works on urban issues, sustainable NRM, environment, nature and landscape planning, local bio-diversity action plans, sustainable tourism, and integrated coastal zone management in SEE countries and Turkey. She is a member of IUCN-CEC, and currently works as an Associate Researcher at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam.
Brown Matthew

Matthew covers agricultural extension, advisory and consultancy services for farmers, crop production/agronomy, and capacity/institution building. He has worked in transition and post-conflict countries in Eastern/Central Europe, the former Soviet Union, and the Balkans where he has managed complex, inter-disciplinary programmes.
Bogner Daniel

Daniel has experience in environmental management, with particular focus on biodiversity and nature conservation in EU Member States and accession countries. His is a specialist in grassland ecosystems, nature conservation and biodiversity, as well as nature protection policies and plans. He has taught universities in Germany and Austria.

Associate Expert
Almira covers gender issues and support for local producer groups in forestry, encouraging improved participation and representation. She has experience of promoting lobbying and advocacy campaigns for CSOs to improve the policy environment for sustainable and decentralized NRM. She has experience of supporting local producer groups, especially those run by women.
Elona works on gender and women’s economic empowerment in forestry and rural development, as well as anti-corruption. She has worked with local action groups (LAGs) and communities that are oriented towards rural development and communal forestry on internal policy, development of strategy and organizational systems, including effective knowledge/skill transfer.
Stavri covers forestry and NRM, as well as provides capacity building for industry, local government, the public and CSOs/NGOs. His management experience covers, national parks, protected areas, nature conservation and biodiversity. He has experience of developing globally secure tenure rights, small scale farming systems, locally managed eco-systems, and the management of NGOs. He is qualified in forest fire protection/prevention.
Hemmami Melike

Melike works on participatory planning processes related to NRM, rural development and the delicate balance between agriculture and biodiversity conservation. She has extensive experience of EU legislation e.g. CAP, Water Framework Directive and Natura 2000. She is involved in participatory action research to solve problems through reflective processes.
Gjeta Zef

Zef has been a member of ministry working groups to prepare strategic documents for agriculture development, including strengthening farmers’ capacities to become more market-oriented. A marketing and extension specialist at MADA, he supported SME development in mountain areas of Albania. He has supported the establishment of wholesale markets, as well as designed marketing surveys for selected agriculture commodities.

Andrian is a specialist in integrated coastal zone management (ICZM), as well as environmental education, conservation, bio-diversity, climate change, integrated solid waste management, and related systems. Toromani Elvin

Elvin has more than 20 years’ experience of forest mensuration, forest biomass estimation, GHG estimation, dendro-climatology and web program design. He has assessed the socio-economic and bio-physical aspects of land degradation, as well as the key drivers and causes of poor land use and soil erosion in forest lands at watershed level. He has evaluated the environment impact of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline in Albania, as well as analysed value chains for wood products in Balkan countries.
Muçaj Pranvera

Pranvera is undertaking gap analyses concerning the Green Economy, LEADER/Local Action Groups, and the retention of rural youth. She is also responsible for identifying project opportunities with which to expand CVNP’s activities in Kosovo. She has worked on rural development issues with various donors for more than 5 years, particularly the EU’s IPA cross-border cooperation programme.

Alen is a forest conservation and sustainable forest management expert who works at the Institute for Nature Conservation of Vojvodina/Serbia. He focuses on protected areas and national ecological network design and governance with cross-sectorial linkages, particularly forestry and water management. He is familiar with GIS-based platforms for land use analysis and planning, as well as climate change adaptation in land use practice and policy development
ASTE CHRISTOPH

Christoph has a Master’s degree in renewable energy and forestry, and is a specialist in the forestry/timber industry. Since 2010, he has lectured on ecology and renewable energy at the University of Applied Science in Carinthia, Austria. He has his own engineering company, and is experienced in the design, implementation and quality management of biomass district heating plants
SANDOR MATUSKA

Sandor started in agricultural administration in 2001 at the Ministry of Agriculture, building the capacity of the EU Paying Agency and achieving its EU accreditation, as well as working as a national expert in common market organisations and EU fund management of agricultural, rural development and LEADER measures. He has participated in several EU Twinning and FAO projects in the Balkan region.
Kampen Peter

Peter has an extensive experience within forestry and environmental development often in combination with leadership and management, including project management. His specialisation is in sustainable forest management and multi-stakeholder engagement in forestry (a.o. community or family forestry). Expert areas of engagement are; forest associations and development, forest governance, land tenure, environmental services, forest biomass and renewable energy utilisation.
Peter has more than 25 years of experience of which more than 15 years in the Western Balkan. He is currently based in The Netherlands.
